A Sample Buyer's Introduction Letter

Dear Ellen:

Many thanks for the opportunity to meet with you and your parents to discuss the possibility of purchasing Barner. It is an adorable home and meets so many of your needs (along with your dog’s). I will do my best to make sure that you and your parents have a good working knowledge of the current marketplace, are fully represented and educated, and that your offer is presented professionally.

I spoke with Darcy Diamantine, the listing agent this morning about the property, your conversations with the seller, Judy, and about your desire to “meet the price” should your offer fall short. She had already spoken with Judy about you and understand that you have a connection with the seller and a “gentlemen’s (gentle ladies) agreement,” so to speak. Darcy will have full disclosure packages for your review sometime this week and I will make sure that you get one as soon as possible. Everyone is rooting for you to get the house.

In the meantime, you will have to sit back while Darcy fully markets the property and give in to the process (as nervous as that will make you). I will keep you informed as to the number of packages that go out, the number of expected offers, and the offer date. We could get lucky and be one of only a few offers, or the demand might bring many more. We won’t know until the offer date gets nearer.

As I look at the comparables in your neighborhood, I am encouraged that $640,000 is the highest sale for the neighborhood in the last few months (last year saw higher sales in the neighborhood).

Finally, I want to convey how excited I am at the prospect of working with you. As your realtor, I can promise you attention to detail, organizational know how and unparalleled enthusiasm.

Sincerely yours,

Julie Gardner
